Stephen W. DeFilippis, EA
For more than thirty years, Steve has used his experience and knowledge in the tax and financial services areas to assist clients throughout the world. A longtime resident of the Fox Valley with his wife Doreen and two grown children, Steve has been involved in the community coaching baseball, softball and as treasurer and vice-president of his Homeowner’s Association. He also volunteers his time for the SIFMA Foundation. Steve is an ardent White Sox and Dolphins fan. In his leisure time, Steve cherishes spending time with his family, plays competitive baseball in the CCSMSBL and enjoys music, traveling, politics, reading and is an advanced saltwater aquarist.
Steve received a BA in Business/Economics from Illinois Benedictine College in 1981 and attained the status of Enrolled Agent (EA) in 1986. He holds FINRA securities registrations Series 7, 63 and 65 and is a licensed insurance producer in numerous states.
Melissa Peterson
Client Service Associate
Melissa is our Client Service Associate and joined our office team in August 2018. She assists Steve and his clients while managing daily operations behind the scenes. She is a natural problem-solver and enjoys helping clients find the answers they need.
Melissa has a B.S. in Business Administration from Taylor University and worked for a financial planning firm prior to raising her family.
She resides in Wheaton with her husband and two sons. In her free time, Melissa enjoys gardening, quilting and reading.
Troy S. DeFilippis
Client Service Associate
Troy is our Client Service Associate and joined our office team in July 2018. He assists Steve and his clients and provides operational support to all team members. He is dedicated to providing exceptional service and enjoys working with and getting to know our clients. Troy graduated cum laude from Benedictine University with a B.A. in Business Management in May, 2018. Troy enjoys baseball, football, golf and is an avid reader.
Doreen B. DeFilippis
Director of Human Resources
Doreen is our Director of Human Resources and provides office support during tax season. Doreen has been working with her husband Steve since 1983 when he first opened his office in Glen Ellyn and after moving to Wheaton in 1999. Doreen has a BS in Personnel Management from Quincy College. She enjoys her family, gardening, Bible study, and donating her time to various charitable organizations.
